Here’s what I learned the hard way ‑ the difference between those who make it and those who almost make it in high‑stakes conversations isn’t knowledge. It’s not that extra framework or concept. It’s the confidence, the muscle memory to handle curveballs, and the ability to bulldoze through when things get tricky. That only comes from practice. Lots of it.

In Dec ’24, we built the first prototype to help ourselves have the conversation to shut down my previous startup. We loved this crappy version and so did our friends, and we’ve been building it since then.

This wasn’t my first time struggling with tough conversations ‑ MBA Admissions, Networking Events, PM Interviews, Promotion discussions … At Google, I had access to professional coaches, but that’s expensive and not available at 10 PM when you’re prepping for tomorrow’s big meeting. Sure, friends and family try to help, but they can’t create that realistic experience ‑ no calibrated feedback, no real pressure.

So we built what we wished existed ‑ unlimited, hyper‑realistic practice that’s always available.

What can the new Tough Tongue AI version do? (The Agentic Upgrade)

v2 was simple roleplay. No tools, no memory. This launch? We’ve gone full agentic, and here’s what that means for you:

• Agentic Tools: The agent can now create cards and diagrams, use code editor, and read whiteboards ‑ just like a real interviewer would. Hyper‑realistic it is.

• Evaluation 2.0: We overhauled our simplistic evaluation to a multi‑step, richer analysis that actually helps you improve
